Crowns

Crowns, also known as “caps,” are coverings placed over teeth to restore their shape, size, strength, and appearance. You may benefit from a crown if your tooth is discolored, misshapen, or has a large filling but is not severely damaged. The extent of the damage will determine whether the crown covers the entire tooth or just a portion, allowing us to preserve as much of your natural enamel as possible.

The crown procedure typically requires two appointments. During the first visit, your tooth is shaped to ensure the final crown will closely match the size and shape of your original tooth. A digital impression is then taken to capture this modified shape, which is sent to a dental laboratory where skilled technicians fabricate your custom crown. At the second appointment, the crown is carefully fitted and permanently secured to your tooth.
